Reader: Concrete Couch took on a project it can't handle

Following up on the story about Concrete Couch's temporary homeless camp: We own a business across the street. At first, we were excited to see them and looked forward to what art projects they'd produce. We offered all the truckloads of free mulch they could handle for their landscaping, then the problems began: my flower bed torn up; destroyed mailbox and garbage cans (both used to climb over our high fences); multiple small tools missing; beer bottles left in our trucks where they sleep overnight. One of our employees had his backpack, phone and wallet stolen in broad daylight by a homeless woman. I caught her running back to the camp and we stopped her. My husband walked over to the camp to search for stolen property and was surrounded and narrowly escaped being beaten with pipes. He described multiple scenes of needle/drug use and horrific filth and stench. All caused by Concrete Couch taking on a project with inadequate training and resources. I highly recommend taking a police escort and photographing this Third World shithole and letting Colorado Springs readers know what Concrete Couch has done for our city.
