Reader: Free recycling for all

I'm responding to a recent letter on this page regarding how our waste is killing our wildlife. I believe that most of our waste is generated from the products that are made for our consumption. Americans consume so much every day, that the trash has a way of simply taking over; we have all seen Dumpsters and waste trucks overfilled with garbage. I'm not exactly sure how to combat the problem, but I think Americans need a better way of "disposing" of paper, plastic and other waste. The idea of cities funding recycling projects may be an answer. Perhaps there should be a way of recycling in every city to combat waste. It should be made available to everyone, and not at a cost. This way, people don't feel the burden of having to pay for it.
