Reader: The lights on Caramillo Street go way back

My husband and I moved out of our house on Caramillo Street a few years ago, after 20 years on the street (SemiNative, Dec. 13).

The lights tradition started in the early 2000s, after we had been to Hilton Head Island and seen how a street had gotten together and decorated. We had described it to then-Caramillo residents the Carters, and they said, 'Let's do it!' In those early years, the lights went so high up in the trees, you could see it as you approached from a couple of blocks away!

Cookie Night was a great addition after a couple of years. So glad it continues — can't lose any more trees!
