Reception and Buddhist Art Show Opening

When: Mon., March 30, 6-8 p.m. 2009
Price: Free

The name Khen Rinpoche Lobzang Tsetan may not mean much to you, but I assure you he's a big deal and a very special visitor. The Tibetan Buddhist monk and scholar established the Siddhartha School in Ladakh, India, and at His Holiness the Dalai Lama's request, became the abbot of the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery. Good news for us: He'll be in town from March 26 through April 2, taking part in daily free events, such as today's 6 to 8 p.m. traditional Tibetan art opening in the Inner Space at Poor Richard's (322 N. Tejon St.). Catch a talk on Buddhist views of love, compassion and forgiveness on Friday, take part in a guided mediation on Saturday, or schedule a private consultation (offering suggested) by calling 649-7235. Visit for more. RC
