Re: “Police chief's son among four CSPD recruits to wash out after driving test

Chief Carey's son should try again. He can practice the driving. Years ago I had terrorist driving on the east coast. I outdrove most of the guys because I grew up in the Midwest with lots of snow and practiced hydroplaning a lot. We need to ask if this driver training really is necessary when every time you pick up the paper, high speed chases are cancelled because of the safety of citizens. Colorado Springs has way too much traffic driving to extreme.

Re: “Police are ticketing far more homeless campers than they once did

Why is it the job of the taxpayer to build affordable housing for the homeless? Anyone with common sense knows the crime goes up in affordable housing areas and the housing looks like crap after a few years. Why do we put all our assisting homeless non-profits downtown where we're building the new Olympic Musuem? Maybe it is time to bring back the "poor farms". Have some common sense people....Ever think of going south for the winter? There are other cities that cowtow to the homeless and they are warmer.

Re: “Needle exchange debate by El Paso County Board of Health ends with "no" vote

If Council member Gaebler would have attended the meeting, she would have seen health professionals admonish the program. There is no accountability for 112,000 exchanged needles in Pueblo. One of the worst drug environments in the state is in Pueblo where "drug kits" were issued through this program. One prior heroin addict stated this program would do nothing to fix the problem. One health care professional with over 50 years of experience counseling addicts stated this would be the worst thing we could do for addicts. What's really interesting is we were going to locate the program on the west side where the worst homeless problems are along the creek. Enabling addicts is not the answer!

Thank you to everyone willing to step up and speak to the negative reality of this program!

Re: “Drake Power Plant meetings slated to talk about sidelining

Look for rate or tax increases because there's "NO PLAN" to cover the cost of an earlier DRAKE shutdown. This city never seems to plan for the future other than more "TAX/FEE INCREASES" to cover developer agenda.

Re: “Former El Paso County Sheriff’s Office notary says top officials ordered falsifying of hundreds of oath affidavits

Several citizens have been disappointed the comprehensive audit promised by Sheriff Elder during his campaign has not been released. It's as if there was never an audit completed. The public tax paying citizens would like to know.

Re: “TABOR author on question 1A

Interesting to note that the guy supposedly selling his snake oil to the gullible had his charity cleared by the IRS in the original tax trial but the TABOR hater judge in Denver would not allow the fact into evidence!

It's not the job of citizens in Colorado Springs to fund I-25. We should not be overriding the State Constitution with a local vote! Vote "NO" in November.
