Fans of Over Easy, A Daytime Eatery may have noticed a change in signage. As of Monday, Nov. 12, all three Springs locations are now operating under the name Urban Egg, A Daytime Eatery. It’s the name Rocky Mountain Restaurant Group also uses for their three breakfast/brunch/lunch spots in Denver and Fort Collins. In an interview with the Colorado Springs Business Journal (which, disclosure, is the Indy’s sister paper as part of Colorado Publishing House), CEO Randy Price recently said that when he started to expand the daytime eatery beyond its original location, he learned he was not the only restaurateur using Over Easy as a name.

“Really, it’s about unifying under one brand that we own the rights to, becoming more efficient, controlling our expansion and making sure everyone has the same experience through all Urban Eggs,” he told the CSBJ. Further, the change protects Price and company from legal disputes with other restaurants of the same name, should competition occur. That said, while Price plans to add a few items to the menu, Urban Egg should be effectively identical to Over Easy aside from the name change; even the logos are all but identical.

“We’ll have the same delicious menu, the same great staff and the same local ownership.”
