Re: “Homeless respond to new ordinance

To whom it may concern,
My name is Nicole Pruski, and I am currently taking American History with Mr. Nelson at Mitchell High School. We have been talking about the challenges people faced during the Great Depression and connecting those challenges with those in today’s recession. I am writing you with the intention of providing my perspective on the ordinance banning camping on public lands. I personally think that the ordinance that will be taken place will cause long and short term problems for today’s society. Not only will it put homeless people out of somewhere to stay, but it will cause jails to become full and it is inhumane and non-Christian.
If you put homeless people out of their camps then you might displace families. Also there is not enough work for all the homeless people to be able to work. If you take out the homeless people from their camps then you will have to use up the resources that tax payers have to pay for. Also there are not enough resources for all the homeless people. All the resources will eventually run out. If you take out the homeless people they will be forced to move somewhere else and that will cause problems in other places.
Also it has been proven that human’s are not causing the e-coli it is the bird poop. The homeless people are being blamed for the problems that are out of their control. In conclusion there are many other ways to take care of people that are homeless rather than to kick them out of their camps in the Monument and Fountain Creeks.
