Saving Abel

When: Wed., June 12 2013

There's an industry truism bantered among rock critics that some of the nicest people in the business are in the worst bands. Which means on the scale of mensch-hood, the men of Saving Abel are only rivaled by Nickelback and Staind. Their brooding post-grunge is rife with all the drama and eroticism of soft porn, from "The Sex Is Good" to "Addicted." The latter, their solitary hit, features the lyric "When you're going down on me between the sheets, the sounds you make with every breath you take is unlike anything," the world's most earnest paean to a gag-job. The band's at the Black Sheep (2106 E. Platte Ave., tonight; it's all ages, $16 in advance and $18 at the door, with the venue opening at 6. — Chris Parker
