Re: “Letters

We have been to a dozen Asian restaurants in Colorado Springs and just began asking if they use monosodium glutamate (MSG). All but two have confessed to adding the carcinogen to their fare; Sien Sien on Garden of the Gods Road and Panda Express say they do not use MSG. We found the paucity of Asian restaurants concerned about serving healthy food shocking since we moved from Albuquerque, where no one puts MSG in their food anymore. Some people are very allergic to it. A restaurant on south Nevada made an entree without MSG, but the crispy vegetables highlighted in the CSINDY's review were replaced with soggy, canned carrots and another unrecognizable vegetable. They refused to even try making hot and sour soup without MSG, because it would be "no good." A Chinese restaurant near Peterson AFB made a watery, tasteless version of the thick, rich, spicy soup. Could you please publish a review on Asian restaurants in Colorado Springs area which do not use MSG?
