Re: “Sunshine laws? No, thanks.

I was there and @eyes_on_gov was not there.

Talk about planting subversive people in the audience - way to go, folks. Let me know the next time you conspiracy theorists get together and I'll bring the potato salad.

Pam, love your "journalism."

Re: “It's not too late, Mr. Mayor

John, it's pathetic to assume that you have any inkling of the Mayor's intentions. I've seen you at several city functions - not once have you attempted to engage him in any sort of conversation or discern his motives/ideas/etc. You'd prefer to skulk around and pretend that you are somehow "in-the-know," but after dozens and dozens of "stories" that demonstrate your incompetence, that act is wearing thin.

The issue of a proclamation in favor of a Gay Pride Parage *is* a contentious issue. And guest what?! My saying that in no way indicates that I have hatred towards the gay community. How shocking! Who would have know that those concepts were mutually exclusive? The fact remains: supporting a divisive action, whether "right" or "wrong," is not something that a mayor should do.

But then again, that's the liberal mentality: government should be intricately involved in every human affair, right?

The Mayor isn't at all restricting such a parade from happening. He merely says that like every other group, the gay community in COS should get a permit and make it happen of their own accord. Why is that such a crime? Is the gay community incapable of doing that?

The hypocrisy and laughably dimwitted anger by the liberal community over this issue astounds me. Furthermore, it should offend the gay community in a very deep way, as it is being painted as a set of cripples who cannot think/act for themselves.

One last point: if the Mayor did issue a proclamation in favor of Pridefest, he would then have to allow the inevitable request by Focus on the Family et. al. for a Pro Life parade. Can you honestly say that the same people campaigning for "equality" in this issue wouldn't flare up in response to such an action?

Re: “Bach leads Skorman by 13 points, poll shows

In other news, Pam Zubeck writes a blog post full of facts and figures in order to deflect from the unfortunate fact that she normally writes inflammatory, poorly-researched stories.

Re: “Is Bach writing a winning script?

I can sum up this whole article in one sentence:

"My golden boy, melancholy slouch and all, isn't going to be elected because Steve Bach appeals to the gun-toting, homophobic Republicans that keep my town from being the elitist, progressive utopia that I've always dreamed of."

Yawn. Get on a new soapbox, John.

Re: “Bach stays silent

Pam - use whatever brain you have in there: Bach isn't about to talk with a pseudo-journalist whose obvious agenda is to tear him down.

Do you realize how delirious you sound? Everything you say is contradictory. "Bach is a wife beating monster who would take this city back to the stone age! AND he has the audacity to ignore my calls!

Durrr. Get a clue.

Re: “Will this be an election lost, not won?

Ralph, you were more tolerable when you were the sports writer for the Gazette.

Oh wait - you were just as clueless and uninformative back then. Sorry, my mistake.

Re: “Poll: Bach leads Skorman

*SOB* I'm just so emotionally satisfied. Richard promises "real change" - just what I was waiting for! Never mind that as a councilman and vice mayor, he failed to make any meaningful addition to this city and assisted it's ungraceful dive into the ground - this time, things will be different! My soul simply sings!

Please.

Skorman is another tax-raising government bureaucrat who has had his chance and hasn't done a thing. Period. His stunning defeat is going to be very satisfying - perhaps, in the ample time he'll have while serving wine to his elitist clientele, he can reflect on how blindly parroting his cult's "developer" chant cost him the election.
