Culinary crumbs and gastronomic gossip

The new face of Phantom

Phantom Canyon Brewing Co. (2 E. Pikes Peak Ave.) and brewer Michele Lowney have parted ways. The restaurant would not comment on her departure, and Lowney did not wish to speak on record. Andrew Bradley, former assistant to Lowney, has been named head brewer. Bradley, an 11-year Phantom employee, spent the past six years as assistant.

"Our philosophy at the moment is to return to the basics," Bradley says. He plans to bring back some of Phantom's original yeast strains and recipes, though he says a few of Lowney's popular beers will show up periodically, such as ginger beer.
