Re: “Record Store Day's Black Friday offerings are beyond special

RSD has become a commercial money grab that stresses every U.S. based pressing plant to the point that almost all the RSD offerings are either pressed or engineered like crap. First couple years, before commercialism, RSD was a celebration for record lovers, but now it's an overpriced, obnoxious reason to buy crappy offerings.

Re: “Inequity in city’s parks and open spaces must be addressed

Pretty sure when they convinced us to approve Lotto in Colorado (1982), parks and rec. was one of their selling points. Colorado legislation is consistent in one area: lies. Next one is marijuana sales tax. Pretty sure I haven't met one school member that's reaped the benefits of this tax either. In fact it seems there's more ballot additions asking for more school funding (i.e. 11, 3, 2) this year than in years past. The only benefit I've seen from marijuana sales is an increase in local crime and ease of access for young folks (especially minorities). Do an article on these ideas. I like your articles, they raise awareness, but I'd like to see action; awareness only goes so far.

Re: “Darryl Glenn to challenge Lamborn in CD5, Spaulding seeks nomination

I was wondering when the sequel to his ~Golds Gym~ meets ad~ meets ~Creepers Anonymous~ commercials were going to start running again. I think the green swimsuit from Borat should be fitting attire for this political campaign! Go Glen!

Re: “The transgender military debate: policy versus culture

Sometimes, though, I forget about the changes I've made in the past three years and will nonchalantly reply "infantry." I explain that I'm trans, and half the time they find some excuse to be anywhere that isn't next to me.

Seriously?! During the course of social event conversation you feel it necessary to non-chalantly explain your gender/sexual/personal situation and you wonder why people excuse themselves? I have tons of LGB friends and I'm pretty sure I have never told strangers at the bar "my gender preference" during happy hour. It seems these social event participants had no issue talking with you about military experiences, but opt to leave when you put your " personal life" into the mix. Dunno about you but I would feel uncomfortable and probably create a reason to leave the situation (i.e. TMI).

Re: “Olympic museum to break ground

Why Colorado Springs will always be in Denver's shadow: Outdated decision makers that would waste $75M on a turd (i.e. Olympic Museum). The city already wasted half of that total ($35M) keeping the Olympic admin offices local (I hear children from across this nation begging their parents for a trip to the Olympic administrative offices)! Can we clear out the old money think tank and liven this town up?!

Re: “Colorado Springs Police pick up the pace on response times

Stop letting the developers run rampant. Not only can't the road infrastructure in this town keep up, neither can the CSPD hiring processes (especially since hitting 1 cone during driving training disqualifies you from the academy).

Re: “Old St. Francis Hospital assessed value soars from $50,000 to $2 million following report

Really like how they purchased it for 50k, then donated a million to avoid the taxes. If the Independent wouldn't have pointed it out it would have gone unchecked.
