Kevin Megyeri will be opening a second Skirted Heifer location in the Dublin Commons III shopping center, at 5935 Dublin Blvd., #400. Megyeri will be the sole owner of the spot; he’s the son of Suzette and Kevin Megyeri Sr., who own both the original Skirted Heifer and Bambino’s Urban Pizzeria downtown.

“My parents, they’ve worked really hard their entire life,” says the younger Megyeri, and while they’ve been a huge inspiration and help, he says it’s time to make his own contribution to the Megyeri family legacy. That said, there won’t be many major changes for the new location.

“We always have good feedback, besides the one complaint that the place is too small,” he says. The new location will be twice the size — 1,400 square feet, next to downtown’s 700 — and seat around 44. While he’s dropping frozen custard from the menu, he will have dessert — house-made ice cream sandwiches are the top contender when we speak. He’ll also be pursuing a liquor license for the spot, adding canned craft beers.

Kevin says Skirted Heifer’s grand opening will be part of the grand opening for the shopping center, currently set for Feb. 1, 2019, though he intends to host soft openings the week before. The timing’s good; Kevin Jr. and Suzette will appear on Food Network’s Guy’s Grocery Games sometime in January, their second brush with network TV after the original Heifer was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives in 2016.
