The Triple-A Sky Sox baseball team will relocate to San Antonio for the 2019 season, the team announced on its website.

Replacing them at Security Service Field will be the rookie-level Helena Brewers from Helena, Montana, part of the short-season Pioneer Baseball League. The new season will run from June into early September, and the number of games played will be cut in half to 38.

The Sky Sox came to Colorado Springs from Hawaii in the 1988 season and were first affiliated with Cleveland. In 1993, the team was affiliated with the Rockies, and in 2015, with Milwaukee.
