Re: “A slippery slope

I was at the TCA Townhall meeting. It's simply not true that Mark Hyatt said that it was "not the proper forum". First off, this was a meeting for the TCA community to discuss certain safety issues and how they were being addressed for our children who attend TCA. Mark Hyatt started to summarize what the meeting would entail and when he mentioned something about the sexual assault incident, the mother of the alleged sexual assault victim, stood up and asked to speak at that very moment and Mark Hyatt told her that she would have her opportunity to speak later in the meeting. He was very respectful. She followed up with "I will speak before this night is through" (which is just what he said she could do). Later in the meeting, he even said that he appreciated the opportunity for parents to be able to turn to the media if they feel the need to. It's just another opportunity for TCA to improve. He showed a huge amount of respect to the family of the alleged victim, as did the TCA audience in attendance. Anyone that was there knows they were treated with respect. The mother spoke, the father spoke and the daughter spoke and they were applauded when they were done speaking. And when the meeting ended they were surrounded by people giving them hugs. It's interesting that that was not included in the article. There's so much more I could say on this subject, but I don't see any point. The fact is, there is only one side of this story that the public is hearing. One side only.
