Re: “Paravicini's Italian Bistro

Mediocre food, inattentive service. What passes for good food in this city continues to astonish me.

Re: “Colorado Independent editor detained for photographing police

Thanks for shining a light in this dark corner. This kind of thing happens way too often, and it's only by consistently bringing these incidents to the public's attention that things may change.

Re: “Reader: Trump is president and you need to get over it

I would love to know exactly how he has benefitted from Trump's presidency. Is he one of the 1%, or just addled like the rest of them?

Re: “Air Force Academy Visitors Center project termed "a tremendous gift"

I can't see any benefit to me. All I see is a tax handout to a developer for a visitor center that should be paid for by the Air Force. Let the developers work out a deal with the Air Force. The city or the county should not be spending much needed taxpayer dollars on this.

Re: “City scrambles to absorb thousands of sightseers after Cog Railway closure

I know it will never happen, but the city and county should get together and buy this for the good of tourism in the area. Maybe the city could swap America the Beautiful park for the railway. Then Anschutz could charge the children to play in the fountain. Guests of the Broadmoor would, of course, could get wet for free.

Re: “Parents battle The Classical Academy over son's coveted locks

I was thrown out school on a regular basis because the principal of my public school decided arbitrarily that it was too long. Unfortunately, my parents agreed with the principal and I was forced to cut my hair. That was wayyyy back in 1968. I hoped that things had changed.

Re: “On the county's eastern edge, a new company quietly picks up the torch on oil drilling

I emailed her yesterday and received this reply:

Good afternoon-

I am El Paso County's Oil and Gas Designee. In 2012, the El Paso County Commissioners approved Oil and Gas Regulations. Those regulations do not require public hearings for County permits. While there is no public hearing requirement, the County is always willing to consider any public input or citizen concern in evaluating the permits. The county has done this in the past on other wells.

At the present time, I am unaware of any company that has future plans to seek a county permit.

I post any new information on the county's Oil and Gas website.

I understand your concern and position.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thank you, Diana
