Re: “Concrete Couch wants to allow a temporary homeless camp at its new location. But is it a pipe dream?

Thank you Donna Fraier! My name is Gina Dupre. Tamara and I live in one of the old neighborhood houses on the other side of the BSFN Railway tracks, just the other side of Mr. Woods "RENTED" Concrete Couch lot. I have also commented above about the criminal element Mr. Woods has attracted to this smalll, law abiding, tax paying community. I am a retired art teacher and have owned my home for 30 years! My dad helped me build a small studio here where I continue to create my own artwork. I too supported Concrete Couch and his efforts to add to the Springs Downtown, but am disgusted now to see that he has decided to dabble in the homeless when he has no experience or resources to do so. By the way, there are many more capable artists in this city that can be respectively commissioned to create environmental artwork in this area. Mr. Woods, because of your refusal to let the Colorado Springs Hot Line police to do their job, YOU have created grief and danger for this neighborhood! I have never experienced more homeless death, stabbings, over doses, petty theft, yelling, screaming and police and coroner responses behind my house. You are not helping them! We will go to battle with you also. I'm watching right now your tent people climbing up the steep embankment to cross, loitier, and trash up the BSNF tracks property behind our houses. This is a safety issue as well. Along side the fact that my neighbors and I are being threatened, yelled at and frightened by this criminal element you are allowing to camp here.

I also live in this neighborhood and have witnessed the filth, the violence, the concern for my family and my neighbors safety and have been late for work while waiting for the police to arrive to remove vagrants fighting from my driveway so I could simply go earn a living. The drugs, the trash, the dirty needles, the prostitutes, the drug deals, the overdoses, the deaths, the murders, the assults, the police, the coroner, the inability for the police to help us clean up our neighborhood all because Concrete Couch doesn't seem to care about those of us who don't visit once in awhile but live this bad dream everyday. We follow the law and contribute to the community by working hard and paying property taxes. Concrete Couch will not give the police permission to move these people along so we, who live here can feel safe in our homes again.

Re: “Concrete Couch wants to allow a temporary homeless camp at its new location. But is it a pipe dream?

The neighborhood. on e. La s Vegas st. Is terrified. This is a old neighborhood has family and children. Coronor vans and police have responded to this Concrete Couch rented lot all summer long. Talk about bad actors. There is a cruel criminal element living behind our little neighborhood. Police reports will show, drug use, overdoses,,stabbings, shootings and murder on this lot. Trash over flows, feces on the lot and in the creek. Concrete Couch is not helping the homeless. Rather they are putting our small downtown neighbor in danger. Our neighbors live in fear just to get into their cars and go to work in the morning!
