Re: “Transport to nowhere

I think it is very sad that you have slandered the medics on the Rocky Mountain Rig without even talking to the person who made the decisions!!! I have lost total respect for your paper and the person that wrote this article. I was the medic, I called my dispatcher immediately after I discovered the rig did not start, the patients wife was up front and was not aware that took place, my dispatcher and supervisor are the ones who made wrong decisions. Everything done on scene was witnessed by a doctor and then things that the medic from the other crew criticized was actually performed by the doctor on scene. I have been working on an ambulance for almost 12 yrs...5 of those with AMR...I did what was required of me, if you would have spoken to the right people you would have found out the actual truth instead of slandering me. Even though you did not mention my name, there are many out there that know who you are talking about. If I were the patient and his wife..I would be angry at the fact that the rig did not start and that dispatch and the supervisor made wrong decisions, I am not sure why she has chosen to take this out on me...other than the fact that the Medic from AMR got her riled up trying to cover her own mistakes. So please...why don't you do your job and investigate this further and find out where the real mistakes were made!! I have given my heart and soul to caring for people, I have served volunteer in many areas, went to help with Katrina victims, visited victims after I have cared for them, received countless letters from other crews including flight for life. firefighters and ER physicians on how well my patients are treated...and this is how I am treated after all of that. I quit my job at Rocky Mountain and have given up my medic due to all the slander I have had to put up with over this one fight..THAT I DID NO WRONG AT!! 12 years of loving and caring for people and one drunk person gets to take all that away....More power to you and your conscience is clear, not sure how you sleep at night though! Not that this matters, but I will be contacting my attorney on this article.
Sincerely...Ellie Campbell
