The new and noteworth from Fergi and Gwar

Fergie, Double Dutchess: Seeing Double (visual album experience) — The Samantha Fox of the mid-aughts returns this week with the release of her decade-in-the-making sophomore album Double Dutchess. To celebrate, a dozen theaters around the country — none of them in Colorado — are previewing the event with a one-night-only big-screen treatment of what’s being billed as Fergie’s “very first visual album experience.” Based on this trailer, the 100-minute cinematic version will be crammed with every war-movie and perfume-commercial cliché imaginable. For those who miss it, an abridged version will come with the album.

Gwar, State of the Union Address (tour promo) — The cartoonish dress-up metal act Gwar has never been known for subtlety, and most likely never will. This skit, posted to Facebook last week, finds a faux Trump babbling behind a blood-spattered podium, then wrestled offstage by the band’s costumed bassist. Not as bad as their onstage faux Obama decapitation, but give them time.
