Re: “UPDATE: ATTN: Cyclists. Tell the city you want these bike lanes.

I travel Research multiple times throughout the day. I have seen one bicyclist using the new route. I have seen two bicyclist using the sidewalk. I have not seen any lowering of speeds by cars, but more aggressive driving as a result of these lane changes. In order to make a right hand turn on red I have seen two cars ready to pull out and they are both beyond the crosswalk making it dangerous for pedestrians crossing at intersections. There are places on Research, in order to see clearly, the driver would need to pull 15-20 ft past the stop lights. Overall, not a real effective way to keep people safer, especially when bicyclists and motorists are not obeying traffic signals. The city is growing so why are we decreasing lane usage. Why don't they make the sidewalk a little wider and give bikes a lane within the sidewalk. If I were a bicyclist I would rather be paired with walkers than with drivers who are distracted daily.
