Re: “ColoradoCare would heal health care

For everyone who hates "Obamacare", (and there are many on the Left, as well as on the Right)....this is our chance to have a system that truly puts our health ABOVE the interests of corporate profits! When Republicans railed against "death panels", they should have acknowledged the fact that they've existed ONLY within insurance companies that were denying needed care to their policyholders!! Government-run health insurance like Medicare is far more reliable than private insurance! Lets give ColoradoCare a try!!

Re: “'Why I don't vote,' Herpin's progress, labeling GMOs, and more

Just turn the Senate over to US, and we’ll do the same thing there that we’ve done in the House……Stalemate and Gridlock!! Let’s get NOTHING done for the people who sent us here for this gig with SO many great side benefits: CEO-type pay, full health coverage (even on the job site!), bribes galore from our loving lobbyists, frequent vacations paid for by ‘friends’, cushy retirement plan, etc.

Cory Gardner says we should elect HIM because we hate gridlock SO much? He was part of the gridlock in the House….does he expect us to believe he won’t vote the SAME way if he is promoted to the Senate? Think how embarrassed we will be with a Senator who allies with Ted Cruz!

Last year we never stopped hearing about all that East Coast money pouring into Colorado from ONE guy, but now the Republicans welcome all the anonymous millions flowing in from the Koch Brothers, Karl Rove, U.S Chamber of Commerce, and the NRA. Such hypocrites! Not one of those groups care one whit about what is best for OUR state, or esp. the working class who will suffer at the hands of a Republican takeover of the Senate!

Re: “'Why I don't vote,' Herpin's progress, labeling GMOs, and more

Amy Willard, I hope you will exercise your patriotic duty and educate yourself about the issues.....and vote for the party that has your best interests at heart. I am not always completely happy with the Democratic Party, either, but they are MUCH MORE likely to have OUR best interests at heart. The Republicans would rather see the entire country FAIL if THEY can't be running it!!
Think about getting involved and helping get our system back on track. It does not help to sit on the sidelines.

Re: “Leadership Program of the Rockies, Bach's downtown dream, and more

"What is sad (and frightening) is there seems to be more and more of these mindless twits appearing every day and even voting."

FRIGHTENING??? YOU'RE the guys who are armed to the teeth.

And YOU have Congress by the nuts, or else we in the Majority could get sensible gun control laws.

My brother offered this comment:
The letter about gun control makes perfect sense. But trying to reason with a gun nut is about the same as having a discussion with your cat: it might seem satisfying to YOU, but doesn't accomplish much.

Re: “Leadership Program of the Rockies, Bach's downtown dream, and more

I've lived a perfectly enjoyable life for 70+ years, without ever owning a gun of any kind. I've witnessed half of my male relatives killed or injured by their beloved guns, one as young as 4 years old. (I grew up in Texas, home of more artillery than half the rest of the U.S. owns.)
I guess I'll just never understand the worship of, and neurotic need to own a boatload of weapons. If someone could explain it to me, I'm listening.

Re: “Leadership Program of the Rockies, Bach's downtown dream, and more

Jan, You're right on about the idiocy of average citizens needing weapons with military mode destruction. Hunters, if you really need 100 rounds to get that deer, maybe you need a different sport!
The NRA is the sole reason that every mentally unstable criminal type in our country is armed to the teeth, since this group successfully fought every proposed law designed to control access to even the most destructive military weaponry. The NRA is now mostly a tool of the arms manufacturers for selling their hideous products!! A majority of NRA members actually SUPPORT sensible laws such as were passed in our state!!
One thing, Jan, it is more like 300 million weapons, not 100 million, that would have to be confiscated! Quite an impossible task!!!
