Third annual Mountain of Authors

When: Sat., March 28, 1-8 p.m. 2009
Price: Free

Each year, the Pikes Peak Library District hosts its Mountain of Authors program, providing exposure and education for local authors, at East Library (5550 N. Union Blvd.). But this year's keynote speaker doesn't need the hype. Springs resident Beverly Lewis, nationally known for fiction works that often draw on her roots in Amish country, has authored more than 80 books and has been on the New York Times bestseller list. She'll speak from 6 to 7 p.m. today and then sign books at a closing reception. The free event starts at 1 p.m. with expert-filled panels on publishing followed by words and pictures, an author showcase and then Lewis. No reservations or registration. For more, call 531-6333 ext. 1315, or go to ppld.org/blogs/ppld/?p=855. RR
