Re: “The fewer lanes the better

I take Nevada from the south side of the Springs to UCCS every day because I-25 is a nightmare. Better solutions to "right-sizing" Nevada would be to make the cross walks guarded to force vehicles to stop when a pedestrian is crossing. Furthermore, these college kids have to take some responsibility, I see too many staring at their phone when they cross the street instead of looking for cars. They could also lower the speed limit to 25 from 35 in front of the school, much like it is in front of Palmer HS or downtown, it is only for 2-3 blocks of Nevada. And finally, they need to adjust some of the street parking on Nevada, one crosswalk in particular on the northbound lane is often obscured by the parking spot right before it, I can not see someone preparing to cross due to that spot. We don't need to spend millions on this, just a common sense approach!
