Re: “Order to remove hijab at Fort Carson spurs controversy, but versions of story differ

The Military is about following orders and codes. In the kitchen any job must be done. Don't care if you order the Veg plate; you signed up and have a job to do. As far as asking for a hijab to be removed to inspect hair. There might have been a chance for this issue to pass BUT Mikey got involved.

Valdovinos; We all make decisions and have to deal with the heat. Wanting to serve and abide by a choice you've made within your religion. The Hijab is a decision. Is there a reason to take action and lie detectors? This sounds like an issue that can be put to rest with conversation. Maybe you and command had a misunderstanding. If hands were laid on you, drug I understand wanting to make change. The bigoted talk from other soldiers should not be seen as 'how it is in the military'.

Re: “Johnny's Navajo Hogan celebrates 84 years on North Nevada

The hogan building might be 84 years old.
Johnny's hasn't been in that Hogan that long. The food is standard.

Re: “There's no room for hate in the new Colorado Springs

The three other lawmakers cited in the BigMedia.org investigation have refused to delete fake news. Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt (R-Colorado Springs) refused to believe that Scalia was not, without a doubt, assassinated by the Clintons. The videos on Pray In Jesus Name show he is an insane human being,

An article titled "Eight Reasons to give thanks that Gordon Klingenschmitt lost the primary" describes the reasons to not vote for the crazy.

Re: “Jill Gaebler apologizes for comment at bike lane debate

Hey nunyabiz;
Ms. Parker leaves her website and contact info for you to ask her questions.

If you are not aware the developers and building companies run this town with their $. They are the reason this town now wastes a larger salary on a strong mayor. This town has made deals for land with developers; some that look like giving property away. Read the CSINDY article about David Jenkins from 2014. Him and his son, who took over the business, are both avid cyclists.

Re: “Jill Gaebler apologizes for comment at bike lane debate

Dear Old Fart - There is a fee when the bicycle is purchased.
Colorado Springs gov website has a BIKES page.

Ms. Gaebler just sealed her own fate and loss of any respect she had with her outburst and sharing that the Mayor and Council only care about people around 35 years of age and they have failed to bring well paid industry to the Springs. Buggar off Jill.

Re: “Owner of Colorado Springs sports store who boycotted Nike now closing up shop

Stephen Martin did not boycott Nike. Prime Time sports put their Nike on sale.
Had he donated the shoes or gave them away - that is a boycott.

First he tried to promote himself as patriotic by mixing in the political to promote his store with his wall photos. That back fired on him because he utilized real estate that he wasn't renting. Photos were sent to him thinking they were for a permanent display. He also spoke about patriots making the mistake made by many which is thinking that there are not left leaning members of the military.

Trying to sell off merchandise because the store had been failing for years is not a boycott.
Stephan Martin attempted to make his going out of business sale appear to be about Nike selecting their sponsor. Left leaning people were NOT going to flock to a store who called them unpatriotic because of a sale.

Re: “CSPD loses dozens of officers, struggles to hire replacements

The comments are why people of color don't trust the police in el paso county colorado and elsewhere in our country. Law enforcement is taking lives everyday and the USA has the largest prison population of any country.
Law enforcement still protects their officers when they've killing people.

People are leaving because they find out what club it is and how officers are told to skirt the law. CSPD do a great deal of complaining to the public when they respond to a call. It seems like every response is an opportunity for CSPD to instill fear of a lack of ability to their jobs.
