Re: “Coquette's Bistro and Bakery

Went to the new location on North Tejon for a Saturday evening dinner. The food was tasty and the servers were well-informed and attentive.

Lots of real flavors, interesting combinations, and suitable portion sizes for the price ($9-$23). Our group liberally shared a representative set of dishes, thus I was able to find several things that I would partake of on my next visit. I chose the pan seared duck, which was perfectly cooked and well paired with the sweet potato/parsnip puree. The desserts were also rich and delicious.

My only complaints concern breaking in the new location. The dim interior made the miniscule text on the 1-page menu VERY difficult to read, and you'll have to raise your voice to have a conversation in the somewhat noisy dining area. Nevertheless, this is a place worth re-visiting.

Re: “Jaywalking case exposes law enforcement embedded in far-left group

I am curious as to what the the Independent thinks the right course of action should have been. Police in uniform would have been accused of harassment, while no police response at all would enrage citizens who don't want people marching in the middle of the street.

Re: “Sen. Cory Gardner is nowhere to be found during July 4 recess

The Republicans are making a mistake even touching the ACA. They should just let it collapse under its own financial mis-assumptions and use the "cruel and inhumane" treatment of former recipients as a 2018 campaign issue.

Re: “Suthers wants more from Utilities after voters say no to payments

Looks like another back-door tax increase is on its way. Let's hope the council doesn't cave as easily as they did on the Comcast issue.

Re: “Pikes Peak Summit Complex still worthy of higher cost

Sounds to me like we need to get a few more people involved in the bidding process.

Re: “Mike Pence plans spin through military bases in El Paso County

Don't you love how all these highly classified facilities can't wait to tell people exactly what they do?

Re: “Jared Polis announces gubernatorial run amid the oranges

Just another out-of-touch Denver/Boulder socialite. If you want the Governor of this state to represent ONLY the Denver/Boulder corridor then vote for this guy, as he is a carbon copy of the current office holder.

Isn't it about time that Pueblo or Manitou Springs nominate someone who represents the Democrats who think the Governor should represent EVERYONE in this state?

Re: “Reader: Sen Gardner, show some spine and stand up

"The solution to health care is to get rid of the insurance companies and Big Pharma and provide universal coverage. "

Have you seen how well the VA works? Trading one set of problems for another doesn't seem like much of a solution.
