Veterans Day Celebration

When: Wed., Nov. 11, 7-11:45 a.m. 2015
Price: Free

A little history lesson: The Bell UH-1 Iroquois helicopter, better known as the Huey, became a symbol of the American military presence in Vietnam as it pulled injured troops and civilians out of danger. There will be a Huey on site as part of PPCC's Veterans Day celebration at the Centennial Campus (5675 S. Academy Blvd., 502-4100), which runs from 7 to 11:45 this morning, featuring breakfast, a keynote from Lt. Col. Michelle E. Johnson and more. Farther south, CSU-Pueblo (2200 Bonforte Blvd., Pueblo, 719/549-2161) will be hosting live music, aircraft flyovers and more, with events beginning at 12:30.
