CASA seeking volunteers. El Paso and Teller County child-abuse victims need a voice in court. CASA trains advocates to gather information, compile written reports and attend hearings to advocate for the children you serve. Requires 6 hours per week. Training begins Feb. 4. The Family Literacy Project is looking for volunteers interested in teaching English as a Second Language classes to adults in our community. Classes are currently held Tues. & Thurs., 7-9 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 2715 E. Pikes Peak Ave. Training is provided and knowledge of a language other than English is not required. The Children's Literacy Center seeks volunteers, high school age or older, to tutor children two hours per week. Training provided. Several locations and times available. Orientations at 5:30 p.m. on Tues., Jan. 7; Thurs., Jan. 9; or Tues., Jan. 14, at the Citadel Barnes & Noble. Call 471-8672.
