Wesley Owens offers pretty much everything one hopes for in a coffee café: comfortable socializing and work space; a retail area with crafts and java supplies; a local art wall; an affordable food menu featuring the likes of panini, house quiches and breakfast plates; and a more-diverse-than-most coffee and drink menu, with all the usual suspects plus an engaging tea list — think: London (Earl Grey), Paris (add lavender syrup) and Tokyo Fog (matcha) drinks. We opt for a well-made, i.e. deep and dark and lightly sweetened Turkish coffee ($3.90) in a too-cute tiny to-go cup. Then, from several chai options, we select a Sherpa Chai ($3.85/small) out of Boulder, said to be spiciest due to ample ginger bite. It's good, as is a red tea latte ($3.80/small) made by pulling a shot of rooibos (African "bush tea") off the espresso machine into the typical steamed milk setup. Cinnamon garnish adds a nice nuance to its natural earthy flavor, enhanced by mild sweetening.
