News flash: Famed PBS painter Bob Ross is alive, well and working for the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. Who else would look at The Pines of Rome and think, "Gee, what that symphony really needs is more trees"? You see, after you're done perusing the free art, inventions and eccentricities of Imagination Celebration's What IF ... Festival — happening in part from 10 to 4 at the Pikes Peak Center (190 S. Cascade Ave., — stay for the Philharm's free Screen on the Green, beginning at 8 p.m., in which a 25-foot screen set up on the north lawn will live simulcast Josep Caballé-Domenech's season opener in arboreal splendor. — Claire Swinford
