Yuri's Night

When: Sun., April 10, 6-9 p.m. 2016
Phone: 576-8000
Price: $45-$60

On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin became the first man in space, when the Soviet Vostok-1 spacecraft completed an orbit of Earth. Twenty years later, NASA launched the first Space Shuttle, Columbia, to orbit the Earth 37 times. Today, commemorate these titanic human endeavors at the Yuri's Night dinner at Space Foundation World Headquarters. It's a charity event — including an online silent auction — for adults 21 and up only. Proceeds will go to the Space Foundation to help reduce the costs of student field trips. 6 to 9 p.m., 4425 Arrowswest Drive, $45 in advance/$60 at the door, — Griffin Swartzell
