Re: “Cindy Aubrey named CEO of Pikes Peak United Way

There seems to be a rather incestuous relationship between local government and these highly paid positions at 'non-profit' organizations. The pool of qualified individuals must be incredibly small for this trend to continue, no?

Ya, they hate the weed, but they sure do love the revenue it brings them...... get ready for price hikes to satisfy "the man", mmj patients...... uh-oh, what if consumption goes down because the price is too high?

Re: “UPDATE: Tiny House Jamboree to leave Colorado Springs

I cannot quite understand the suddenness of this. It would have been much more businesslike and appropriate to make such a change for Summer 2018. Something doesn't seem right about pulling the rug out from under plans people have already made, many months in advance. I booked air tickets several months ago as well as a room. I'm not happy about this. I'm surprised to see these Jamboree folks don't have better manners, planning abilities, etc.

Re: “Cannabis and skin cancer

Hello my name is Thomas Karol , my husband was suffering from liver cancer, and the doctor's told me that there is nothing they could do to save my beloved husband life. Then a friend told me about hemp oil , i told her that my husband liver cancer was in the last stage that i dont think the hemp oil will be able to help, and she persuaded me to try, for the love of my husband, i decided to give it a try. I did some research and i found a doctor who helped me with the cannabis oil to cure my husband liver cancer and he assured me that after 3 months the liver cancer will be gone, and For the past one year my husband is perfectly okay and he is free from cancer, if you know any one who is suffering from cancer you can save his/her life by contacting Rick Simpson via his email : ricksimpsoncannabisoils@outlook.com, it worked exactly as the doctor prescribed. Thanks to Rick Simpson for taking away sorrow in my life. The trail is open to everyone, not just you Carl; mountain bikers, Incline users, and hikers. There are plenty of other places you can go with less traffic.

Re: “Mike Pence plans spin through military bases in El Paso County

Schriever is as "spooky" as any place on earth. Tax payer dollars gobbled up by civilians and military working in the shadows .No transparency and no accountability. So much of this goes on that it is no wonder there is never an audit of all the money the Pentagon cycles through every year. Disgusting.

No to the fee for hiking. Where's the ten dollars an hour for parking going?

Re: “Reader: Incline traffic is out of control on Barr Trail

I hate to suggest this, but perhaps requiring admission or some kind of park pass would help? $1-$5 per person to hike, not unreasonable, and would also fund restoration.

Re: “Reader: Incline traffic is out of control on Barr Trail

This is not unique. Parks, local, state and federal are seeing record visitors; RMNP went from an average of 3.2 million up until 2014 to 4.2 in 2015, 4.5 in 2016. Sometimes you are restricted where in the park can drive now. Visiting parks the last 3 springs, summers and falls has been incredible; good to see people "Discovering" their parks, sad to see what over usage does. Particularly as people are ignorant of or flat breaking rules.

Providing more access by making new trails may not be the answer either. This only accelerates degredation.

What do we do?

Re: “Reader: Incline traffic is out of control on Barr Trail

Have patience; the north return trail is still on the radar. Parking is a bigger problem right now, as is doing repairs to the upper third next year. These things always take longer than everybody thinks they should. The north return trail will require Forest Service approval and an environmental assessment, so don't get too antsy.

Re: “City regulations on fire pits haven't triggered citations in recent years

Rather than focusing just on fire pits it might have been more instructive to look at the effectiveness of city-wide code enforcement in general. I sometimes see code enforcement people looking at eyesores and other issues around town, but never see any of these problems actually get addressed.

Re: “Survey: Marijuana not a driving factor for rising homeless population

Oh yeah I forgot... The weather is not nice. Why you keep printing that is beyond me. The sun shining does not mean it is going to be warm and March winds continue through April, May and June just to mention in case you all never go outside. Try sleeping outdoors on a bus bench in December here, I see people doing that. Really, try it for a week. Obvious that you who say the weather is nice never worked outdoors, such as plowing a field or fixing a broke down car in a blizzard..

Re: “Survey: Marijuana not a driving factor for rising homeless population

"All the Shit That Fits" should be the Indy's motto... Asking questions and expecting the truth from anyone is risky but to base a census on it is folly. People lie, especially those who are down and almost out. They will say anything to appear to be in control of their lives. Indy writers no doubt go to bed early and never go south as far as Mill St. They write about what they see out their office window and dare not annoy the powers that be. Stories rarely have resolution and the inordinate amount of space given to marijuana use can interest only a handful of readers at best.
The claim that the economy is robust is believable if you are well-heeled or stoned. Colorado and the nation's economy is in shambles. The minimum wage does not even have the buying power it did in the early 1970s. I cannot think of many who work 40 hours a week. Monopolies are the rule and the streets and roads are not showing any signs of repair contrary to the Indy's claim a while back that the roads were fixed! The money in the budget for street maintenance disappeared and I am still waiting for someone to look into that small oversight. It went somewhere to be sure. Now more is needed to pay attorney's to fend off one debacle after another. Letters to the Indy are either chosen for print for laughability or for misdirection. "Trump" watch is the least of our concerns and by "our" I mean those of us who can think logically and with sound minds.
There is one industry the Springs seems to have a foothold in and that is profiting from homelessness. Charity and tax money allocated need administrators to divvy it all up-right after the administrators take their salary off the top.
The claim that the Indy touted about being a promoter of small businesses was recently on the pages just ahead of the weekly restaurant trashing defamation fest- the skewering of hard working people by the sophomoric writing styles and queer culinary taste buds of junior reporters on loan from local high school writing classes and poetry contests. I won't mention I guess that "Playing Around" listings now include karaoke which last time i checked is not anyone playing music so please no more mentions of trying to make this burg another Austin Texas. Visit Austin sometime and you will see what I mean. Austin has more live music in one night than the Springs has in a year...

Re: “Tennessee man says quality of Colorado Springs weed 'is an absolute fraud'

Same problem in other states, like Az. The dispensary weed doesn't even resemble black market weed. It looks the same, thats about it. Im not even picky. When I sold weed, I smoked the shake and smallest popcorn, and sold the rest. I didn't care if it was cured, tasted great even fresh. But now, after hanging my "drug dealer" hat up, I simply cannot smoke 95% of legal dispensary bud. I know the smell of grow chemicals so well now, my head has an instinctual "get that out of my body" shaking reaction upon smelling most dispensary bud.

Anyone defending the corporate weed scene gets pissed when you try to tell them the bud is wack. How does a imaginary Thc rating relate tp quality? Is Gem Clear better than expensive aged wine, because its got a bigger number on the bottle? Answering that honestly reveals a lot about you. Even then, breeding for thc has ruined the gene pool. Its everything in the plant working together in balance, not THC, that matters.

The least common denominator obviously has no taste buds or gag reflex, and operates on mental placebos on a daily basis. I've heard people talk about the great flavors of a dispensaries weed, and the stuff taste nothing like Cannabis, and makes me sick.. I dont know how people smoke the stuff at all.

One trip to the hydro shop, and I realized why the legal weed seemed fake and was absolutely disgusting to consume.. You're smoking grow products, thats why. The dispensary bud is overfed with useless snake oil gimmicks products that can't be flushed out. Weed does not smell like weed in the dispensaries. It smells like plastic. Not the smell of Bubblegum strains, no, like burning trash bags full of recyclables. My stomach is killing me. Any strain from Norcal soothed my stomach before even packing a bowl, it did not matter the genetics. Az dispensary bud, even the stuff that doesn't taste like nutes, generally upset my stomach. It doesn't even give you cotton mouth, its like.. empty and oilless inside.. This is coming from someone who prefers fluffy Sativa buds. Actually, to put it into perspective, the last time I vaped mexican brick was fairly recent. It tasted great and had a better high. Just had to vape a lot.

YES, I would rather smoke halfway decent reggie than bud from Az dispensaries. The stone alone is euphoric vs spaced out. The taste is what gets me though. Nothing I mean NOTHING I came across had a danker smell than reggie. The rare clean bud in Az taste like reggie strains. Not kush, Sour diesel or anything like the package says. They actually have people believing that the smell. of Azadirachtin,a fungicide, is the skunky smell weed is known for... For Petes sakezI cab tell which of my neighbors smoke dispensary weed and which ones smoke black market.. One. yard smells like sweet n sour skunk, the other smells like burning leaves soaked in motor oil, at best.

I never got Neem sprayed buds, artificialy scented buds, or really any bad tasting or headache inducing buds in my life until I got my Mmj card. Its an absolute JOKE. The best stuff in the Arizona dispensaries on on par with whay I used to have trouble moving in Arkansas for half the price. Colorado bud was npt quite as bad when I dealt. You could always tell it was Colorado bud though. It all smelled the same mo matter the strain, and had a bland taste. My friends hated that I knew where their bud was from. It should wall smell identical!

To be completely honest, i bought two 8ths a week for 2 years straight in AZ dispensaries, and can count on one hand how many of those strains were even tolerable to smoke.. And none of them were the cut they claimed to be. They grow bagseed with fake scents applied. I threw away thousands of dollars of disgusting weed that tasted like snake oil grow products. Dispensary bud is full of chemicals, mold, mold hiding sprays, soaked in sugars for added weight. Poorly trimmed. I never saw any of this shit in Arkansas, buying from Norcal, OR, Can. I want tp start importing hash again from African/ME nations, and giving it away in dispensary parking lots. People need to know the most basic soothing weed smells/flavors that tne dispensary bud absolutely does not have. Dabs have zero smell and flavor, except for butane of course. When I bought wax from Norcal, it stunk up the block with lemon skunk, and tastes like space candy.

You can tell EXACTLY what synthetic nutrients lines and fake scent additives the growers use. Botanicare Pure Blend Pro is a nutrient line you smell most commonly. You dont have to be a grower to know produce shouldn't taste like MiracleGro. Then, they use Botanicare Sweet Citrus and Sweet Grape, or AN Budcandy, or GH Floranectar, or Cutting Edge Sour Dee at harvest to give worthless buds a smell of some sort. These products are the same as spraying with sugar water, except its simple sugars that absorb through the root. They aren't even smart enough to make their own snake oils either. They pay a premium for bottled gimmicks from Monsanto connected and pedophile ran, Nature hating corporations . No one who grows for dispensaries in Az has a clue what natural Cannabis even is. The fake smells and sugar water doesn't fool anyone with experience, the product is RUINED, its trash. Just like the lungs of anyone smoking sugars. But some poor delusional fools keep buying it. So they lower the prices and sell more of the same. Fake smells.. I will never get over that one.

I can't smoke weed with any cardholders in Az.. There's a 99% chance the bud will restrict my breathing, give me a headache, or induce "bitter weed face". Its a shame, no one in Az mmj scene has ever smoked real weed before. You know, the stuff that has a pungent smell and heavenly flavor amd makes you giggle. Not something premature and moldy, sprayed with essential oils and sugars that burn your lungs and ache your joints.

The best bet shopping a dispensary in AZ is to stick with something that smells like haybales, lawn trimmings. Because if you buy anything with an actual smell, its usually a fake smell from a bottled product, or the old classic bait and switch, since it's not the same bud they show you that you come home with.

Weed without terpenes and flavinoids. Weed with fake terpenes. Weed with fake frost. Wax made from reclaimed dabs and sugar leafs, with "Pineapple Express" synthetic blend. There's really no purpose in strains at a dispensary. None of it is legit or what it's suppossed to be, even in the rare case that it's clean enough to smoke. Pineapple Express is no longer a strain, iys a bottled scent! What more needs said. Kts fake weed.

Planting bagseed and soaking the roots in simple sugars and fruit esters. Every myth you hear about the black market came true in the mmj market. I have no problem classifying the garbage in Arizona as FAKE WEED. When your entire lineup smells like a shady fake smell products I can identify with 100% accuracy, you should never be allowed to grow Cannabis again. What the dispensary growers are doing is abominable. It is offensive on so many levels. Buds soaked in nut products. Soaked in synthetic pesticides. Soaked in sugars, covered in mold, soaked in dairy based mold sprays.

Let it sink in what MMJ is doing to people. The bud is beyond useless. It belongs in a courtroom as analyzed. evidence of fraud and bodily harm. Its commercial sterile hydroponic crap in the first place, then they hire some minimum wage meth head who will, no shit, crush up Valium into his pots. I've seen it. Dispensaries even clean out dab rigs, and sell the cleaned. wax. I dont expect anyone to believe that, I had to see the employee tasked with doing it first hand before my mind could grasp how pathetic and dangerous legal cannabis is going to be. Nothing is regulated about it but who can grow it. Nothing regulates the how. Tje same shit is happening in Canada, providers are growing dirty BULL SHIT.

Ive stopped vaping completely until I can grown my own. I finally ran across some artificially scented bud that gave me instant pimples on my forehead, followed by 18 hours of cold sweats and shivers. I couldn't risk it anymore! Any rookies first crop is better than dispensary top shelf. As long as they use microbial soil, and not the synthetic chemicals that attempt to replicate soil grown bud in a dead medium. The local growers seem like they are sponsored by these gimmick snake oil hydroponic nutrient companies! Its all a crock and everyone without a brain and a heart has bought into it.

Re: “Reader: We all know why the Civil War took place

I dont know why anyone with ancestors that were in that War North or South should be ashamed. Its not like we had a damn thing to do with it. Your oath is very honorable but did you ever think thats the same oath both sides of that War were following. Its kind of like being ashamed of being German because your great grandfather was in the German Army. The wealthy from both sides started the War over commerce a big part of that commerce was slaves. It was the poor or less then wealthy that spilled the blood.Kind of like today it sure as hell ant the rich kids dying in our Wars. The only thing to be ashamed of is the use of Historical artifacts as racist propaganda now.

Re: “A 2015 Ponzi scheme continues to take tolls on uprooted area families

The ponzi scheme allegations where never argued before the court and never were allowed to be defended as the fraud charge by the Securites Commission was dropped. All the victims of this mess (buyers, sellers, private lenders) came from actions and inactions of the receiver and then the bankruptcy trustee continuing to default on all buyer/seller/lender greements and claim all agreements are invaild... knowing that few of these folks have the ability or financial means to defend their rights and interest. The victims above clearly state the problems began with the receivership. Its a nightmare that even anyone with all the facts still can't understand the motivations of the state actions. Re: “Motion seeks dismissal of charges against former Sheriff Terry Maketa

Prosecutors love to stack charges to bully defendants. I hope Maketa takes them to the cleaners when this is over for charging him with extra crimes with no support and dragging his name through the mud. Prosecutors charging people with weak or no evidence just to try to force a plea is unethical and lazy.
