Re: “Sheriff Bill Elder calls Indy story "crap"

Nothing you mentioned is accurate! You're simply incorrect! EPSO is no different than any other public office across our nation!

The affidavits don't have to be notarized. Good night, find another fake news story Indy! PLEASE move your Liberal agenda to Boulder! You are not welcome in Conservative Colorado Springs!

Re: “Sheriff Bill Elder calls Indy story "crap"

Unfortunately for Holmes, his response to the and the Indy article is what is full of crap! Once again, all a turd like this can do is name call rather than argue facts which are not on his side. Perhaps if he pulled his head out of Elder's rectum and smelled some oxygen his thinking might be more objective. Mr. Holmes, please pick a single issue and argue with FACTS, if you can find any. Perhaps a couple of examples you might wish to argue further when you are re-oxygenated:
1) Elder wearing a pathfinder do not lie, only Elder did while stealing valor from those who REALLY served.
2) County Commissioners settling sexual harassment lawsuit at EPSO while other lawsuits are filed and in the pipeline...would like to see your argument against public records.
3) Cronyism and stealing promotions from those who EARNED them to give to those who PAID for them...again please argue those public records.
My guess is unless you are so in the tank we won't here from you for a while as you try to extricate yourself from your crappy position(s).

"The Indy is crap with a Liberal agenda! Elder is absolutely correct!!"

Name calling is not a brilliant response. Your lack of effort is noted.

Re: “Police are ticketing far more homeless campers than they once did

"""Just fyi, I can't recall ever seeing a homeless person lugging around a shovel to "dig a hole""""

There are a lot of rocks in Colorado; and there is a lot of scree dirt and debris. Marion house, SRM, Dorchester Park, heck, even a sewer drain. Lots of options as compared to a pile beside the path, in the alley, on and on and on. If a person can't solve this simple stuff; a home (which usually means an electrical outlet, maybe a stove, a microwave, running water - may as well put a 911 call box on the wall; because that is a whole nother set of emergencies waiting to happen) probably is not the next step in evolution.

About the time a person needs assistance in the how and where to poop category; not sure where to go with helping them. Filling the five gallon bucket and dumping it in the creek is not the right option either. (That does become our drinking water; and is also used to water crops - care for a good old fashioned TB or Hepatitis outbreak? Salmonella anybody?)

Still no trash solutions - the age old concept of 'bring it in; carry it out'. Check back when that basic elementary school level item gets mastered. Because so far; these basic pre-teen tasks (and management items, for the more evolved homeless to perhaps mentor to the less than developed among them) are easily seen to be lacking.

Stop trashing our outdoor areas!

Re: “Sheriff Bill Elder calls Indy story "crap" is for cowards. All claims made have no credibility and are 99.9% innaccurate. If legitimate, names would be provided by the accusers. Laughable because the accusations are made by former, bitter employees who were fired with cause by the Sheriff!

Re: “The challenge of dance photography

I shot for the Colorado Ballet for over 20 years and the DenverCenter for Performing Arts for 20+ years and the Chicago City Ballet before that. 3000 shots (almost 1 per second) in an hour hour is pretty extreme. I would average about 550 shots per performance. I do agree with you that dance is like a fast moving sporting event with constantly changing light. I found the secret to capturing the best shots is listening to the music.

Re: “Sheriff Bill Elder calls Indy story "crap"

While we know that attacking the media is all the rage these days (especially among white male Republicans in high places) it doesnt sound like she published Elders home address..... rather he wrote it himself on a public form that was then obtained by the Independent. Sheriff Elder leaked his own home address, it probably wasnt a big secret anyway!
Everyone knows that notarized signatures are to be witnessed. Apparently County officials think they are above the law. Thank you, Pam Zubek, for continuing your long and distinguished career, informing us about the slimy underbelly of El Paso County politics. At least the shenanigans can be exposed, even if DA May will take no action against his buddies.
It doesnt sound like the new sheriff is an improvement over the old. Instead of attacking the press and ripping into a female reporter no less Elder needs to take responsibility for his own actions and clean up his act.

Re: “Police are ticketing far more homeless campers than they once did

Just fyi, I can't recall ever seeing a homeless person lugging around a shovel to "dig a hole"...shovels cost money, and if you're homeless, what money you have is probably going to go to more pertinent purchases like food, clothing or toiletries. So to suggest that they could dig a hole and bury it is kind of ludacris.

Mental health facilities need to be reinstated, and we need to be actively helping these people. It seems with the way policies are going we are just creating more homeless, and a lot of us are closer than we care to realize. It only takes one bad turn to end up on the street, and the numbers are growing Nationwide.

A simple search of William D Elder will yield the same results. As soon as you become an elected official, you kiss your privacy goodbye. Sad but true.

Re: “The challenge of dance photography

I've been shooting dance for several companies for many years. Since I'm shooting dress rehearsals, I have the luxury of being able to stand anywhere. But like you, have to deal with stage lighting and movement. I use a Sony a7R2 for its high ISO abilities, letting it float between 100-6400. I do use a shallow depth of field of between f2.0 and f3.2 and 1/200s. I almost always use a 28mm lens, unless I'm shooting solos, in which case I might switch to a 35mm or 55mm. But always prime. And finally, to deal with the hot overhead lights, I turn the EV down by 2/3 to 1 1/3 stops to make sure I don't blow out the highlights. Because the sensor of the a7R2 is ISO Invariant, I can pull a lot of detail out of the shadows. Congratulations on having the opportunity to shoot the CSDT!

Re: “Sheriff Bill Elder calls Indy story "crap"

Using Sergeant Conrad as your excuse is absolutely BS. You should be ashamed of yourself, anyone worth their salt in investigations can figure out the times are off and you are lying. You have lied about providing audits, following your own policies as you changed them to suit your agenda. While you campaigned you told everyone what they wanted to hear, now your butt cannot cash those checks. You are unprepared, inexperienced and a poor excuse as a leader. You do not deserve to be in this role, the deputies deserve better and so does the public who gave their trust to you - a phony and a fake. Quit your whining, step down and quit trying something you are not and can never be.

Time to bring in someone who has experience and is a proven leader - Go Mike Angley!!!

Re: “Sheriff Bill Elder calls Indy story "crap"

Dear Bill,
Welcome to the public life! After all, according to you, Make no mistake, this is what I signed up for! (Taken directly from your own website). By the way, YOU are the one who made your address public when YOU put it on a PUBLIC DOCUMENT.

So much for the transparency you promised. Maybe if youd quit lying out your backside, you could keep your story straight. Seems the ONLY time you will talk to the media in person, or even give a statement is when the article is positive. Anyone who dare come out against you best know that you wont be providing a statement. The guilty always hide. Youre a snake. Evil viper.

Re: “Sheriff Bill Elder calls Indy story "crap"

Hey Elder,

Liar, liar ... pants on fire!!! Your lies are catching up with you man. Your abuse of power is sickening.

And, let's be honest. I know it's difficult for you, but you are only telling Pam that she overstepped the line BECAUSE she is the only journalist with enough balls to call you out on your crap and you don't like it! You're pissed because you don't have her on her knees like you do with all the other reporters in this town. You know, like your buddies at the Gazette and KRDO, that bow down to you and twist the truth!

And hey, if you want to talk about who's worse at something. I got one for you; YOU! YOU, by far, are the WORST Sheriff ever! You don't even rise to the level of what and who a Sheriff represents! In my opinion, which is shared by many, you DO NOT deserve to wear the badge of Sheriff nor did you truly earn it.

And, don't be a hater. Whoever is beyond is only doing what is right. They are working diligently to expose the FILTH and CORRUPTION that plagues the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, has placed a black cloud over this county and has destroyed many lives as a result. YOU are the epicenter of all that is evil. Don't be hater toward those that are doing what is right in trying to expose you for who you really are.

You're a disgrace man.
